OPIA Brows & Beauty

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 23, 2026

I'm Ashely Piereder, and I run OPIA Brows & Beauty. This explains what I collect about you, why, and what I do with it. It's short because what I do is simple.

What I don't do

I don't sell your information. I don't rent it, and I don't share it with other businesses for their marketing. I have no affiliates and no partners who receive your details.

If you've read an older version of this policy that said otherwise, it was template wording that never described how this studio works. It's gone.

What I collect

When you book

Your name, email address, phone number, and the appointments you book and keep.

Health and suitability information

My booking form asks about things that affect whether a treatment is safe for you — pregnancy or breastfeeding, medications, recent treatments, skin conditions, and similar. I ask because some of them mean I can't treat you, or need to treat you differently. This is the most sensitive information I hold and I treat it that way. I don't share it with anyone.

Photographs

I photograph the work — brows, lips and eyes — before, during and after treatment. There's a full section on this below.

Payment

Online booking fees are handled by Stripe. Debit and credit payments in the studio go through Moneris. In both cases your card number never reaches me and I can't see it. I can see that a payment was made and for how much.

If you're on my email list

Whether you opened an email and what you clicked, which is how I tell whether what I'm sending is useful.

Website visitors

Standard web information — the pages visited, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what brought you there. Cookies are used for this. Nothing here identifies you by name.

Why I collect it

To book you in, remind you, and treat you safely. To send you aftercare that arrives when you actually need it. To keep records of the work I've done on you, which matters when you come back in two years for a refresh. And, if you've opted in, to send you brow care tips, refresh reminders and studio news.

Who else sees it

People

Right now, it's me. If I take on an assistant or a contractor, anyone working with me is bound in writing to keep your information confidential, is trained on how to handle it, and can only see what they need to do their job. Your health answers are the most restricted thing I hold and access to them stays limited.

I sometimes work with people who help me with advertising. They may have access to my ad accounts and, where you've agreed to it, to the email addresses used to build advertising audiences. They work on my instructions under a written agreement and can't use your information for anything else.

Services

A small number of services hold your information in order to run the studio:

  • Acuity Scheduling (Squarespace) — United States — bookings, intake forms including your health answers, appointment history
  • Stripe — United States — online booking fee payments
  • Moneris — Canada — debit and credit payments taken in the studio
  • MailerLite — European Union and United States — email, if you've opted in
  • Meta, meaning Instagram and Facebook — United States — advertising audiences, if you've agreed to that

Where a service is based outside Canada, your information is stored outside Canada and may be accessible to authorities there under their own laws. Each of these acts only on my instructions, for the purpose listed beside it, and none of them use your information for their own purposes.

If you have questions about any of this, ask me — Ashely Piereder, owner — at the email below.

I'll also share information where the law requires it. That's the only other exception.

Advertising

I may use client email addresses to show OPIA advertising on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, if you've agreed to that on my booking form. Your address is scrambled before it's uploaded so the platform can match it to your account. It is never sold, never shared with another business, and never attached to your photos.

Photographs

I photograph the work I do — brows, lips and eyes — before, during and after. Taking them is part of doing the job properly: it's how I check symmetry, watch how you heal, and remember what colour and technique I used on you.

These photographs are mine, and I use them. They appear on my website and social media, in advertising including paid and boosted posts, and in training and educational material. Most of the time what gets published is a set of brows or a mouth rather than a recognisable person, because I'm photographing the work and not the face — but sometimes more of you is in the frame.

If you'd rather only unidentifiable photos of you were published, tell me and that's what I'll do — I'll crop them or block out your eyes. There's a box for it on the consent form you sign before we start, and you can tell me any time afterwards as well.

Photographs you send me

Different rule. If you email or text me photos of your own brows — before a review, or between appointments — I crop them or block out your eyes as standard before anything of yours is published. If I wanted to use one as it is, I'd ask you first.

If you'd rather I didn't publish yours at all, say so — at your appointment or any time afterwards — and I won't. If something of yours is already up on my own website or social media, I'll take it down. What I can't do is pull back anything already shared, screenshotted or printed by someone else.

Photographs stay in your treatment record either way. That record is how I know what I did to your face, and it's what I'd rely on if there were ever a question about the work — so I keep it whether or not your photos are ever published publicly. Asking me not to publish and asking me to delete are two different things. The first I'll always do. The second I don't.

Email

Appointment emails — confirmations, reminders, aftercare — come with booking. They're part of your appointment.

Anything else only goes to people who ticked the box asking for it. You can unsubscribe from that in one click at any time and it won't affect your appointment emails. If you unsubscribe I won't add you back.

How long I keep it

  • Appointment and treatment records, including the health information you gave me — ten years after your last appointment.
  • Photographs — I keep these for as long as I'm doing this work. Permanent makeup is permanent, and the photographs are the record of what was done to your face, which doesn't stop being worth having after ten years.
  • Email list — until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, and I'll tell you. You can ask me to correct anything that's wrong. You can withdraw your consent to marketing email at any time, and ask me to stop publishing your photographs at any time.

Just email me. No form, no process — it's a small studio and I'll answer you myself.

Keeping it safe

Access is limited to me. The services above are the ones that actually hold your data and they're chosen partly for that reason. If something ever went wrong in a way that put you at real risk, I'd tell you.
