Eyebrow Microneedling
Frequently Asked
thoroughly answered
What is Eyebrow Microneedling?
OPIA provides two kinds of services of Eyebrow Microneedling to achieve results of either brow hair-regrowth, or removal of residual yellow pigment from faded or lasered permanent makeup brows. Two different solutions are used to achieve either result. The method of microneedling implants the solutions as well as helps break up any scarring from previous brow permanent makeup.
Can I really regrow my brows with Eyebrow Microneedling?
Many clients have had excellent results regrowing their brows. Guarantees cannot be made, as your aftercare, personal health, and genetics impact your reaction and results. Multiple treatments are needed with 4-6 weeks between appointments.
Does Eyebrow Microneedling really remove the yellow pigment that is the end point from Laser Tattoo Removal for Brows?
Yellow is a very difficult pigment to remove, as it cannot be effectively targeted by laser, and manual methods tend to provide the best results. Methods also include Saline or Acid Removal, however these services can be quite painful and OPIA technicians have found effective results with other, more gentle solutions.
Do Eyebrow Microneedling Treatments hurt?
You will sit with numbing applied for 20-30 minutes before the treatment begins, and then an additional secondary numbing solution will be applied half way through the service. Clients do not find the service particularly painful, however it is not completely painless. Experiences vary from person to person and can be impacted by hormones, skin sensitivities and the state of the brows themselves.
What is the aftercare for Eyebrow Microneedling Treatments?
Allow the solution applied at the end of the service to sit and absorb for at least 6 hours. After which you will gently cleanse the brows with a mild soap or cleanser and pat dry with a clean, disposable paper towel. You will be provided a healing ointment you can begin to apply 12-24 hours after the service. You will continue to cleanse the brows once a day, and apply ointment as needed. Protect your brows from sun and UV exposure with a hat for the first week, after which you may switch to an SPF for the raider of the 30 day healing process. Avoid sweating, exercise, sauna, hot baths/showers, steam rooms, or swimming for 72 hours.
What are the contraindications for Eyebrow Microneedling Treatments?
Must not have any active skin condition in the area to be treated. Must not be on antibiotics for 2 weeks prior to the appointment. Must not be on accutane for the last 6 months. Must not be pregnant or breastfeeding. Must not be undergoing chemo or cancer treatments. No fillers or botox in the area 2 weeks prior. No brow treatments such as lamination, tinting, waxing 1 week prior. Avoid use of retinol, AHA, Glycolic Acid on and near the brows 1 week prior. How many sessions will I need?
There is no way to determine how many sessions you will need initially. However, the more yellow pigment to be removed, or the less natural hair there is, the more sessions you can expect will be required. A starting point is to expect 3 sessions, with 4 weeks between treatments.
What will my brows look like after the Eyebrow Microneedling Treatments?
You will leave the studio with your brows red and inflamed with some blood residue, expect to want to go home right away.
Do you numb my brows for Eyebrow Microneedling Treatments?
Yes, OPIA always numbs clients for 20-30 minutes before the first treatment, and you will then be given a packet of numbing to apply on your own to prepare for your next treatment. You will be guided on how to apply the numbing to achieve the highest level of effectiveness.
