AFTER-CARE
Keep the eyebrows dry the first 24-48 hours
After a Henna Brow treatment you must keep your brows dry for at least 24 hours and if possible, even 48 hours. The brow henna must continue to absorb into the skin and dry. If you wet your freshly applied Henna Brows you are not giving the henna enough time to be absorbed and the stain will fade faster.
Avoid Working out, Swimming, Sauna, Steam Room
Avoid hot steamy showers for the first 2-3 days.
Intensive exercise including Hot Yoga: Avoid for at least 24 hours.
Swimming: Avoidfor the first 2-3 days.
Sauna & Steam Room: Avoid for the first 2-3 days.
Do not use peels, scrubs, exfoliating acids
Do not use any exfoliator on or very near your brows until the henna stain is off the skin. That’s about 2 weeks after the treatment. Using a soltuion like AHA or BHA, Glycolic Acid or a physical exfoliant will make your brows look patchy.
Using Cleansing & Skin care Products
Henna stays the best on dry skin. That’s why it’s important to use the right facial products to help the henna stain last.
Cleansing products will cause the stain to be rubbed off the skin faster. While cleaning the skin, avoid or only very gently clean the eyebrows.
Oil-based products cause the stain to fade faster. Therefore, always look carefully at the list of ingredients of your products. If you naturally have an oily skin type, there is a good chance that the henna will fade quickly from the skin.
It is best to avoid all skin care products on the brows if possible. If you have dry skin, you may use a gentle, non-oil, moisturizer after 48 hours.
Avoid Sun Exposure for 24 hours
If you expose your brows to sun/UV there is a good chance that the color of the brow henna will change. Your eyebrows have also recently been waxed which means that the skin is sensitive. A tanning session could cause you to have an allergic reaction.
Expected Results
henna can stain the skin for up to 2 weeks with proper aftercare, and stain the hairs for up to 6 weeks..
However there are some reasons you may not achieve this result:
-
- If you have oily skin.
- If you do not follow the aftercare well.
- If you did not follow the pre-care
- Your lifestyle is “rough” on your brows, where they get exposed to external influences frequently.
- You sweat regularly, which will cause the stain to fade faster.
